DO YOU KNOW THE ORIGINAL MEANING OF "PUTTIN ON THE RITZ"? HAPPY NEW YEAR! BUON ANNO!

"Puttin on the Ritz" means to dress up very fashionably.   Here in Trapani it's very cold and windy so we dressed accordingly:)
I wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Il significato di "Puttin On The Ritz" è vestirsi in modo molto elegante.   Qui a Trapani fa freddo ed è piuttosto ventilato allora ci siamo vestiti  appropriatamente.
  BUON ANNO!

MY HOMEMADE CHRISTMAS TREE....MERRY CHRISTMAS! / IL MIO ALBERO DI NATALE CASALINGO...BUON NATALE!

I don't like artificial Christmas trees and the real ones are too expensive and not environmentally-friendly so I made my own with home made cookies and cupcakes. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Non mi piacciono gli alberi di Natale artificiali e quelli veri costano e non sono eco-compatibile allora ho preparato un albero casalingo con biscotti e cupcakes fatti in casa.  BUON NATALE!

MATZO BALLS...POLPETTINE DI MATZO

Simple chicken soup with Matzo balls

For the chicken soup: chicken wings, carrots, celery, leek, onion.  Boil everything together for about 2 hours.    In the meantime time, put 125 g. matzo flour in a ball, add 1 cup boiling water and stir.  Then add one beaten egg, a pinch of  cinnamon and a pinch of ginger, and salt.  Mix well and refrigerate for two hours.  When the soup is ready, take teaspoonfuls of the mixture and roll into balls, drop them in the soup and cook, covered, for 15-20 minutes.

HOMEMADE SOBA

Japanese soba is hard to find here in Sicily so I made my own...all you need is buckwheat flour,  water, and a spaghetti machine.

Gli spaghetti giapponesi soba non si trovano facilmente qui in Sicilia allora li ho fatti in casa, serve soltanto della farina di grano saraceno, acqua e la macchina per fare la pasta.

This is my new lipstick, Lancome Absolue Rouge no. 134, a gift from my daughter.
Questo è il mio nuovo rossetto, Lancome Absolue Rouge n. 134, che mi ha regalato mia figlia.

Heat a non stick pan and pour the batter in tablespoonfuls.  Cook until bubbles form, then cook  the other side for about 1 minute.

If you don't find ready made azuki paste, this is how you can make.
