Hazy day in Monte Erice today, but the Funivia (cablecar) is very busy shuttling scientists from all over the world arriving in Erice for the World Federation of Scientists meeting. They will be discussing many world problems, including safety of nuclear plants, pollution caused by industries, water, energy etc. The meeting will continue until August 23. Pietro Grasso, the Italian Senate President, will make a speech. William Colglazier, Science and Technology Adviser to the US Secretary of State, will also speak.
